Living Martyr Dies In Kathmandu

Issue 02, January 10, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On January 2, 2010, the warrior of the people’s movement of 2006 and living martyr Vishnu Lal Maharjan died from the bullet wounds inflicted by the armed police deployed by the government of the despotic Shah dynastic ruler for suppressing the people’s voices for a change. He fought for ending the despotic Shah dynastic rule and for building a new Nepal.

The irony is that the head of the regressive force and current Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has honored him covering the body with a national flag and assured his family of giving meager amount of Rs 50,000 for funeral and death rites and Rs 400,000 for subsistence of his family whereas Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has been spending millions of rupees on his foreign trips. Madhav Nepal has been glorifying the cruelest King Prithvinarayan and is for reinstating the celebration of his anniversary on January 11, 2010. If Madhav Nepal reinstates the celebration of the anniversary of Prithvinarayan, it will be the greatest insult to the warrior of the people’s movement and martyr Vishnu Lal Maharjan.

Thousands of people have assembled at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu where the body of the warrior of the people’s movement of 2006 and living martyr Vishnu Lal Maharjan has kept for the public tribute until noon on January 3, 2010. Leaders of three major parties and some other small parties too have paid the last tribute to the martyr at the Dasharath Stadium.
