By KTM Metro Reporter

March 16, 2011: hearing on the case of the shooting at the son-in-law of former Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala is held in Bharatpur of the Chitwan District today but the court did not make any ruling because of the absence of the victim that has said his family and he were threatened to kill at the resort hotel in Chitwan.

Son-in-law of Sujata Koirala, Ruwel Chaudhary had accused Paras Shah, 39, of shooting in air for threatening him and his family to kill in a row over the role of the monarchy. Paras had acknowledged the shooting in air in the statement posted on his blog but later in the statement given to the police had denied it.

Paras was not present in the hearing today but his lawyer Shiva Bahadur Pandey said that the ruling was delayed because the Chief District Officer asked for the presence of the victim of the incident. However, alleged victim Rubel Chaudhary has chosen to avoid the case because the publicity of this case has brought up his misdeeds in Nepal. Ruwel is a Bangladeshi national married to the daughter of Sujata Koirala: daughter of Girija Prasad Koirala.
