Completion Of Eleventh South Asian Game

On February 9, 2010, President of Bangladesh has announced the end of the Eleventh South Asian Game held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In this game Nepalese players have won eight gold, nine silver and 21 bronze altogether 38 medals and secured the fifth position in the order of the countries winning a number of medals.

Winning 90 gold, 55 silver and 28 bronze altogether 173 medals, India has secured the first position among the medal winning countries, Pakistan second, Bangladesh second and Sri Lanka secured fourth position.

Afghanistan secured sixth position winning seven gold, nine silver and 16 bronze altogether 32 medals in this game.

Bhutan has won two silver and three bronze medals whereas Maldives has won two silver and two bronze medals. Both the countries could not win any gold medal.

South Asian Game is held every two year. India will host Twelfth South Asian Game in 2012.
