Global Non-Resident Nepalese Conference And Convention In Nepal

October 19, 2013: the sixth Non-Resident Nepalese (NRN) Global Conference and Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA) International Convention of 2013 are being held in Kathmandu, Nepal from October 19-22, according to the news posted on the ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’. Around 1,000 non-resident Nepalis have arrived in Kathmandu from more than 65 countries to take part in the convention.

 

The convention has the theme of 'NRNs and Nepal: Partners for Prosperity' to discuss. They will see the NRN’s possible role in making Nepal a prosperous nation.

 

At the news conference held in Kathmandu on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, the NRN President Jiba Lammichhane said that the convention would elect a new executive committee for next two year. The convention also would hold discussions on collective investment, investment following the public private partnership (PPP) model and social services, among others, said Jiba Lammichhane, president of NRNA.

 

To make collective investment in Nepal, the NRNA has established a collective fund of Rs 1 billion in 2012. The association has made funding to the 27 MW Dordi Hydropower Project from the collective fund.
