Maoists’ Code of Conduct for its members

Issue 49, December 07, 2008

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

According to the local news reports, the CPN-Maoist has formulated a Code of Conduct for its members including its Constituent Assembly (CA) members. Recently, its cadres have been vocal against the enhanced life style of the Maoists’ party members.

Following the Code of Conduct, the Maoists’ CA members could own cell-phone sets not costing more than Rs 10,000 and could have two sets whereas the Central Committee members could have three sets. Concerning the clothes they need to use local products as much as possible.

The CA members need to use the public transport for going anywhere; if they want to have a private vehicle they could buy battery-powered Chinese bikes. They need to stay in groups, not to attend events held in star-hotels and not to accept expensive gifts from anyone.
