Finding Archeologically Important Objects of Buddha’s Time

January 4, 2012: archeologically important objects dating back to Lord Buddha’s time have been discovered at Kanyamai: the parental home of Lord Buddha’s mother after the joint digging done by the Department of Archeology (DoA) and Lumbini Development Committee, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

The archeologists have found two ancient idols, mask made of mud, other ancient earthen pots and a teacup shape pot with a handle made in the form of a human hand.

Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Kapilbastu is the capital of the kingdom of Lord Buddha’s father and Kanyamai: Dev Daha is the Lord Buddha’s parental home. All these areas are in Nepal.

Kanyamai has remained neglected for many years. The recent findings of the archeologically important objects have brought this area to limelight.
