Gacchedar has joined the government of Madhav Nepal as the Deputy Prime Minister before the decision of his party on joining the government.

Chairman of MPRF Upendra Yadav has charged the Prime Minister of calling the meeting of the central committee members of his party at the official residence of the Prime Minister, Baluwatar, and has said that the Prime Minister has no rights to do such thing, only the chairman of the party has the rights to call such a meeting.

Madheshi People's Rights Forum has taken back the support for the government led by Madhav Nepal and fired Bijaya Gacchedar including seven his companions from the party for going against the party decision and called for Tarai shutdown on Monday, June 8, 2009 as the token protest against the government.
