Seminar On ‘Recent Developments in Nepal-The Way Forward’ In New Delhi

January 5, 2011: the Vivekanand International Foundation: a newly established think tank is holding a seminar on ‘Recent Developments in Nepal-The Way Forward’ in New Delhi on January 6 and 7 to discuss the current political scenario in Nepal, ‘Himalayan News Service’ and nepalnews.com report.
Leaders of major political parties and constitutional experts have left Kathmandu for New Delhi toady to participate in the seminar. Vice-chairman of UCPN-Maoist Baburam Bhattarai and politburo member of UCPN-Maoist Barshaman Pun, General Secretary of NC Prakash Man Singh and another leader of NC Pradip Giri, Pradip Gyawali and Agni Kharel of CPN-UML, and Jitendra Dev of Madhesi People’s Rights Forum-Democratic are participating in the seminar.
In addition, Former House Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana, constitutional expert Bhimarjun Acharya, former Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Rukmangud Katawal and economist Bishwambhar Pyakuryal are also participating in the seminar.
Himalayan News Service quotes one of the members of the foundation CD Sahay, “India and Nepal share historical ties in various areas. We, as civil society members, believe that peace and prosperity in Nepal will have a positive bearing in the entire region. We will be conducting the seminar behind closed doors to encourage the participants to freely express their opinion.”
