Stopping Business of Constituent Assembly

Issue 27, July 06, 2008

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On July 02, 2008, the Constituent Assembly members belonging to Madheshi Peoples’ Rights Forum, Terai-Madheshi Democratic Party and Nepal Sadbhavana Party surrounded the rostrum and shouted slogans disrupting the business of the Constituent Assembly. This was the sixth time they had disrupted the session of the Constituent Assembly. They have been demanding the Government of Nepal to include the spirit of the eight-point agreement the United Democratic Madheshi Front had signed with the Government of Nepal in the proposal for the Fifth Amendment to the Interim Constitution.
