Madhav Government Loses Support Of NWPP

Issue 24, June 13, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

June 13, 2010: Nepal Workers and Peasant Party (NWPP) has pulled out its support for the Madhav government on Saturday, June 12, 2010 stating the government has done nothing for the welfare of the people.

The central committee meeting of the party held on Saturday has decided to pull out the support for the Madhav government stating the government has failed in working for the country and the people rather has increased corruption, abuse the authority and did not care about implementing the agreement reached among the three parties on extending the term of the CA.

The NWPP has also alleged the NC and CPN-UML for failing in completing the peace process to its logical conclusion and the writing of a new constitution but have engaged in the personal interest of the leaders of these political parties. So, it does not make sense to support the government of the coalition of such political parties the NWPP has stated.

The NWPP has the strength of five members in the 601-seat legislature.

Previously, small parties such as Nepal Janata Dal, Sanghiya Loktantrik Manch, Nepa Rastriya Party and Dalit Janajati Party have pulled out their support for the Madhav government.
