By KTM Metro Reporter

January 19, 2011: the 105th session of the Constituent Assembly (CA) on Tuesday, January 18 has unanimously passed the amendment to the Regulations of 2010 of the CA making possible to send contentious 83 subject matters concerning a new constitution to the Constitutional Committee (CC) for settling the matters building a consensus on these matters if the CC cannot do so then it can send those subject matters to the CA for ultimate settlement of the disputed matters according to ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today.

Talking to the reporter of ‘The Rising Nepal’, coordinator of Draft Committee on Amendment to Regulations of Constituent Assembly Pushpa Bhusal has said that the amendment will allow resolving 83 contentious issues as they could be sent to the CC for discussion and resolution. She has said that the CC has no voting rights to conclude the issues by majority votes but it can forward the contentious subject matters to the CA. Then, the CA can resolve the issue either by building a consensus on these matters or by majority votes.
