January 26, 2011: according to the news of ‘China Daily’, China Southern Airlines has doubled its flights to Kathmandu following the demand of tourists, students and business travelers for increased flights to Kathmandu. The airline now offers every day flight to Nepal except for Tuesday. Previously, the airline used to run only three flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

"Now, the airline will fly every day except Tuesday," said Binod Bogati, station manager of the airline. He has also said that the airline has a wide-ranging domestic network and also operates in countries such as South Korea, Japan, Australia and various European destinations.

"The flights have 100 percent occupancy for the four months from September to December," he said, a number of fliers is so high, some of them use other airlines and pay higher rates. The number of flights has been increased following the business extension, and the expansion of Chinese tourists visiting Nepal. "Another major reason for the increase in flights is the Nepalese National Program of Nepal Tourism Year 2011", he said. The increase in the number of flights will certainly support to make the Nepal Tourism Year 2011a success.
