On May 30, 2009, the Nepali Congress cadres: members of the organization called ‘Tarundal’ have manhandled the reporter of the state-run news agency ‘RSS’ of Kalikot according to the ‘Gorkhapatra’ of May 31, 2009. A group of about 35 Nepali Congress cadres has attacked reporter Rupendra Aide in Kalikot. He is also the member of the Revolutionary Journalists’ Association in Kalikot.

On May 30, 2009, Nepali Congress Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel has said that a new constitution will not be possible to craft until the issues of the Maoist combatants and their weapons are settled according to the news item published in the ‘Gorkhapatra’ of June 1, 2009.

On May 30, 2009, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has protested the capture of the property belonging to its deceased leader Rabindranath Sharma by the Maoists’ cadres in Nawalparasi and asked for the immediate return of the property to the owner according to the ‘Gorkhapatra’ of June 1, 2009.

On May 30, 2009, speaking at the inaugural function of the ‘Sixth District Convention of CPN-UML Baglung District, Chairman of CPN-UML Jhalanath Khanal has repeated that the CPN-UML will never accept ‘One Madhesh One Province’ according to the ‘Gorkhapatra’ of June 1, 2009. He also has stated that ‘One Madhesh One Province’ goes against the national unity.

On May 30, 2009, speaking at the function held to greet him at his home district Rautahut, Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has said that he is capable of digesting any amount of poison poured on him by the Maoists according to the ‘Gorkhapatra’ of June 1, 2009. Former Prime Minister Prachanda has labeled him as a poisonous plant.

On June 1, 2009, the Nevah Autonomous State-Manka Movement Committee has called the Kathmandu Valley shutdown and called on all the valley people for coming out on the streets and fight for their rights to a Nevah state.
