Madheshi Front Also Authoritarian Says Sushil Koirala

Issue 06, February 10, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

February 7, 2013: President of NC Sushil Koirala, has said that the Madhesi Front currently in the government under the leadership of Dr Baburam Bhattarai also was authoritarian like the UCPN-Maoist, according to state-owned news agency RSS. Addressing a gathering organized jointly by the major opposition parties at Tirahutiya Gachhi in Janakpur yesterday, President Koirala said the Madhesi Front was indifferent to the problems of Madhesi people after it accepted Maoists’ leadership in government.

On the occasion, Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel said that the UCPN-Moist was imposing authoritarianism with the help of Madhesi leaders. ”UCPN-Maoist is the major obstacle to making the country a federal democratic republic”, he said, adding that a consensus on the election to Constituent Assembly was the current need. However, there would be no national consensus, bypassing the NC and the CPN-UML, according to Nepalnews.com.

Most probably, the NC leaders have gone insane, as they don’t know what they are talking about. The NC leaders have been saying that only the NC-led government could hold elections impartially. Is it not authoritarian concept?
