Staffs of Local Administration On Strike

The staffs of local administration have gone on strike putting forward their various demands and shutting down the business of the local administration across the country according to the state-run newspaper ‘Gorkhapatra’ of December 16, 2009. They have said that the police have sidelined while taking actions against the restaurant owners, traffic accidents and other offences despite the fact that such unilateral actions of the police go against the law.
At the same time, the Ministry of Local Development has asked the staffs of the local administration to call off their protest, as the ministry has already prepared the draft rules on meeting their demands has been already prepared, and has been presented to the cabinet for discussion.
