NC and CPN-UML Ready For Head-on Collision With government

Issue 37, September 11, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

September 9, 2011: after a two-day sitting, leaders of NC and CPN-UML have decided to go head-on collision with the coalition government of the UCPN-Maoist and the UDMF rather than cooperating with them on completing the peace process and the constitution writing. The combined strength of these two political parties in the parliament is slightly more than one-thirds of the 601-member parliament. They could put the completion of the peace process and the constitution writing on hold if they want.

These guys have forgotten to set up a ‘Truth and Reconciliation Commission’ following the Comprehensive Peace Agreement the government of Nepal has reached with the Maoists. They have been insisting on integrating the People’s Liberation Army not exceeding the 4000 of them but they have not talked about the victims of the conflict and their families and compensation to be paid for the loss of the loved ones.
