Poudel Claims For Prime Ministerial Portfolio

Issue 42, October 17, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

October 10, 2010: after failing to garner required votes for getting elected to a new Prime Minister, NC candidate Ram Chandra Poudel has claimed that he should be declared a winner in the (mock) election held to elect a new Prime Minister. His votes have been dwindling every time an election is held. On Sunday, October 10, his votes have fallen to 89 in the 12th round of election. Even the legislators belonging to his party have started not participating in voting, as it has been a mock election rather than an election to a new Prime minister. Mr. Poudel has been continuing to be a candidate shamelessly. He has been making the fun of the flawed legislature. How long Mr. Poudel wants to continue the gai-jatra of the Prime Ministerial election; Nepalis have been already tired of hearing the news about the Prime Ministerial election.

Mr. Poudel wants to be another defeated Prime Minister. We have had a man defeated in two constituencies as a Prime Minister for 13 months. Now, Mr. Poudel claims for a new Prime minister even though he has received 89 votes out of 601 votes in the parliament. This man claims to be the member of the so-called Democratic Party. What a democratic system we have in Nepal.
