Zero Tolerance Of Corruption Says Prime Minister

December 6, 2011: speaking at the Public Account Committee (PAC) of the Legislature-Parliament at Singha Durbar, Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that his government has the zero tolerance of the corruption; so, his government’s priority is to tackle with irregularities in the financial administration, and to make reforms in the state-owned enterprises so that those state-owned companies run in profits, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

The prime minister also has informed the PAC members that his government has been enforcing the Public Corporations Directive Board (Formation and Work Execution) Order-2011 to appoint chief executives and other members of the administration of the state-owned enterprises through the open public competition so that they would run the corporations in profits. Currently, most of the state-owned companies are running in loss mainly because of the government interfering in their businesses.

The state-run telephone company called Nepal Telecom is heading to making the profit of Rs 12 billions at the end of the current fiscal year, ‘gorkhapatra’ of today writes.
