Former PLA Combatants Complete Training, And 1,352 Formally Join NA

July 6, 2013: at a special function held yesterday to mark the completion of the training, 1,352 former People’s Liberation Army (PLA) combatants received the certificates of formally completing the training and joined the Nepal Army (NA), according to the news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com’.
With the integration of the PLA combatants with the NA, the part of the peace process: the army integration process started in 2007 has come to a conclusion.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations (DPR), the completion of the training of 1,352 former PLA combatants was below the officer level.
All the newly passed junior army personnel would be put under the ‘National Development and Security Directorate’ (NDSD).
The NA said that those getting positions higher than the soldiers (the lowest post) will be provided with bridge courses designed for the respective posts before giving them insignias and letting them join the duties.
The formal completion of the training of 70 former combatants getting officer posts including a Colonel and two Lt. Colonels will be in the next two months, said DPR. The officers’ level integration training is going on at the Nepal Army Academy, Kharipati.
