Saying Goodbye To PLA Members Opting Voluntary Retirement

January 30, 2012: Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has yesterday directed division commanders of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to make preparations for saying goodbye to the PLA members that have opted for voluntary retirement, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of January 30, 2012 writes.

"We held discussions with the Chairman, the Prime Minister and other senior leaders of the party about voluntary retirement. The farewell of the PLA members opting for the voluntary retirement will start on Jan 31 with due process," ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today quotes PLA chief Nanda Kishor Pun ‘Pasang’.

The chairman instructed us to get ready for sending off the PLA members who have chosen for voluntary retirement, Yam Bahadur Thapa ‘Pratikshya’, PLA first Division Commander, said talking to ‘The Rising Nepal’. He also has said that the chairman has asked the division commanders for holding functions for the outgoing PLA members after the government completes the official tasks, to say goodbye to them at their respective camps.

The government provides the voluntarily retiring PLA members with the financial assistance of rupees five hundred thousands to eight hundred thousands depending on their ranks in two installments in two years.
