By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

March 18, 2010: the meeting of the Council of Minister held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 has decided to suspend DIG Parsuram Khatri working at the Department of Criminal Investigation of the Police headquarters in Kathmandu for the public offense committed staying well after midnight at the ‘Dohari Sanjha Restaurant’ and getting drunk and misbehaving with the lady there on March 13, 2010. DIG Parsuram Khatri is suspended for three months.

The marshals of the restaurant took DIG Khatri out of the restaurant to the street and beaten him severely. Then, the police have arrested the restaurant owner. However, the incident has taken a new turn after the local people came out against the police brutality.

Then, the police have set up a three-member committee on investigating this case under the senior SP Manohar Rimal of the Department of Criminal Investigation with members such as SP Sudeep Pathak of the Metropolitan Police at Durbar Marga and DIG Raju Dhakal of Sohara Khutte Police Station. The committee has prepared a report on the DIG Khatri’s misdeeds.

However, the meeting of the Council of Minister held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 has decided to set up another committee under the Head of the Police Department Rabindra Pratap Shah on investigating the case again.
