Enforcing The Seven-point Deal

November 6, 2011: top leaders of the three major political parties such as UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML have agreed on giving responsibility for monitoring the return of the property seized by the UCPN-Maoist to the team comprising Barshan Man Pun of UCPN-Maoist, Krishna Prasad Sitaula of NC and Bhim Rawal of CPN-UML as time has not been enough to set up a high level political mechanism due to the visit of Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda to US for mobilizing resources for the Lumbini development ‘gorkhapatra’ of today writes.

Talking to reporters at the International Airport in Kathmandu, Prachanda has said that while in the US he would inform the international community and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon about the seven-point deal.

As soon as Prachanda returns from abroad, a high level political mechanism for monitoring the enforcement of the seven-point deal will be set up.

At the same time, the UCPN-Maoist has sent a circular letter to all seventy five-district committees asking them for returning the property and dismantling the paramilitary structure of YCL.

Speaking at the function held in his home district Gorkha yesterday to honor the people killed during the conflict, Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that the people will not forgive those that block the peace process.
