Nepal Army Kills Again Innocent People
By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu
March 12, 2010: the Nepal Army personnel have killed three innocent women including twelve-year old girl at the National Reservation Banspani Babai Valley Park on March 11, 2010. These women have been cutting grass and the Nepal Army has fired at them without warning killing them instantly.
However, in a statement, the Nepal Army has said that the three women are poachers and killed during an encounter with the soldiers in the national park area.
This is not the first time the Nepal Army has killed the innocent Nepalis. The Nepal Army personnel had killed 12 innocent Nepalis at Chihandanda in Nagarkot of the Kathmandu Valley in the past. Such brutal killings of innocent Nepalis have been repeatedly happening because the Nepal Army including the current defense minister have been for killing innocent Nepalis but not for defending the international borders.
Recently, Prime Minister Madhav Nepal and his Defense Minister have promoted Toran Jung Bahadur Singh to the second-in-command of the Nepal Army despite the opposition of the international and local human rights organizations and civil society leaders because Mr. Singh is indicted for the enforced disappearance of 49 Nepalis.
