Police Release A Criminal From Custody

Issue 03, Janaury 17, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On January 13, 2010, the Nepalese ABC TV has aired in the evening news that the Gaushala police have released a criminal captured by the victims of the criminal and turned over to the Gaushala police.

A few Nepalese youths have gone to the middles east but they have not received the remuneration for the work even after nine months. When they have checked who has been receiving their salaries the middleman sending them to work in the middles east has been collecting their pays on their behalf.

After returning to Nepal, these youths caught the middleman and turned him over to the Gaushala police for legal actions against the culprit. However, the police released him in their view from the Gaushala police.

Home Minister Bhim Rawal must be watching the ABC TV and must have known what the police have done on TV camera. What would be the use of his special security plan if the police release criminals in view of the victims? If the Home Minister has a little bit of moral he has to punish the concerned police otherwise he needs to leave the job without delay. He has no rights to collect the salary paid from the taxpayers’ money.
