March 8, 2013: political leaders could wiggle their whiskers after boasting the success of their call for the shutdown of Nepal but common folks have to take the loss of Rs 2.5 billion per day. The shutdowns of Nepal enforced by the so-called political leaders on March 6 & 7, 2013 have caused the loss of Rs 5 billions to the country, according to the estimate made by the Federation of Nepal Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) yesterday.
Speaking at an interaction event held in Kathmandu yesterday, head of the Industry Committee of the FNCCI Dinesh Shrestha said the preliminary study carried out by the federation found that business worth of nearly Rs. 2.5 billion per day is lost due to shutdown affecting around 1.5 million small and large entrepreneurs, writes nepalnews.com yesterday.
The so-called leaders not accountable to anybody have been indulging in the criminal act of causing the loss to the entire population by calling shutdowns and enforcing the shutdowns of businesses of other people. They should be aware of the need would arise for them to be captured in any foreign countries where such shutdowns are made illegal. They need to take the example of colonel Kumar Lama arrested in the UK for the crime of torturing rebels in Nepal.
