Issue 32, August 11, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporter

August 10, 2013: the Sarasvor Village in the Siraha district has remained tense yesterday after the rival groups of youths fought against each other. The police have to fire in the air to bring the fighting youths under control. Four youths got injured while the police was bringing the youths under control, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

The fight between the rival groups of the youths has started after some youths molested a young woman while on the way to offer holy water to Lord Sarasvornath Mahadev in the Sarasvor Village of the Siraha district.

Such fighting between rival groups of youths is not a new in Nepal but this time some reporters erroneously reported that the fighting was between the youths of two different religions.

Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers has appealed to the reporters and locals for not giving the religious color to the fighting between two rival groups. Chairman Regmi has said that Nepalis have been tolerant of different religions; people of different religions have been living harmoniously in Nepal.
