Anniversary Of Bhanu Bhakta Acharya

July 14, 2011: yesterday, the prime minister and minister of culture have participated in the function of marking the 198th anniversary of Bhanu Bhakta Acharya considered to be the first poet of the Nepali language.
All Nepalis are proud of such a remarkable poet but Nepalis have not only the poets of the Nepali language but also distinguished poets in different languages. So, the concerned state agencies need to bring their status out and let the people know that Nepalis have many remarkable poets and literary figures.
The way the anniversary of Bhanu is marked indicates that once again Nepal has only the Nepali language. However, the fact is the Nepali language is the latecomer in Nepal. We have many poets and literary figures of Maithili, Bhojpuri, Nepal Bhasa and other ethnic languages but the attention of the state agencies needs to be drawn to them, yet.
