Prime Minister Madhav Nepal visiting India

issue 34, August 23, 2009

By KTM Metro Reporter in Kathmandu

On August 18, 2009, Prime Minister Madhav Nepal is visiting India with a plan load of people accompanying him. While in New Delhi, he will meet with the Indian Prime Minister, President, Vice-president, other ministers and leaders of some political parties. Then, he will continue his visit to Mumbai and interacts with the Indian businesspersons and industrialists, and attempts on attracting them to invest in Nepal.

According to the Minster for Information, the Prime Minister has no agenda on signing any significant agreements with the Indian leaders while in India, as it is a visit set by the tradition. Any new Nepalese Prime Minister needs to visit India first by the tradition and meet with the Indian leaders. So, Madhav Nepal is just going through this formality.
