By KTM Metro Reporter

June 23, 2010: Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sharat Singh Bhandari has unveiled the statue of Lord Shiva at Chittapol village in the Bhaktapur district on June 21, 2010. Reporters have claimed that it stands at 143 ft and is the tallest in South Asia. India-born man called Kamal Jain has initiated to build this statue. He has claimed that he has spent Rs 120 million on building the statue and other infrastructures there. Its premises have an Ayruvedic hospital and meditation center.

Mr. Jain has started collecting fees from the devotees visiting the so-called tallest Shiva statue. None of the temples collects any fee from the devotees visiting temple. So, Mr. Jain is using the tallest Shiva statue for making money in other words selling the Shiva statue to the devotees for profits.
