Furnishing Information On Assistance Of APEC

August 17, 2011: Constituent Assembly Special Committee on Parliamentary Monitoring headed by Chairman of Constituent Assembly Subash Nemwang yesterday has asked the government and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to furnish information about the assistance to be provided by Asia Pacific Exchange and Cooperation Foundation (APEC) for the development of Lumbini: birthplace of Lord Buddha, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of today writes.

APEC is a Hong Kong based INGO. Recently, it has announced the assistance of US$3 billion for developing Lumbini as the cultural, religious, educational and commercial center in cooperation with the government of Nepal.

Recently, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has visited Malaysia to attend the meeting of the APEC.
