Serve People and be result-oriented: Prachanda

On Sunday, September 07, 2008, on the occasion of the Fifth Civil Servant Day, addressing the civil servants on the Radio Nepal morning program Prime Minister Prachanda told the State employees to be result-oriented and serve the people; he assured the state employees of finding ways and means of keeping their morale high by paying a special attention to enhancing their benefits and skills. The Prime Minister also said that the tasks of the current government are to craft a new constitution, complete the peace process, and take the country to prosperity; the State employees need to work to this end.

Speaking to the state employees at the prize-award ceremony held at the official residence, Baluwatar to distribute prizes to the most deserving staffs, Prime Minister Prachanda told the State employees to adapt the historic change to delivery services to the people to meet their expectations in the changed context, stated ‘The Rising Nepal”. The Prime Minister also said that the government would award the State staffs for working efficiently for meeting the people’s expectations and would not save anybody deviating from the work. "The country is at the historic turning point, the old is demolished and the new is yet to be built, hence this is a period when we have both challenges and opportunities. Your role in removing the hurdles and making use of the chances has increased significantly. If the government fails, the nation will fail as well, and it all depends on how appropriately we carry out government’s policies and programs; your role is crucial in this task," said Prime Minister Prachanda.
