Constitutional Committee Votes On Portion of Draft Constitution

On December 25, 2009, members of the Constitutional Committee held a vote on some contentious issues of the portion of the draft constitution it has prepared. After the voting, the Constitutional committee has passed the name of the new constitution as ‘Constitution of Nepal of 2067 (Constitution of Nepal 2010)’, to include ‘Madhesh Movement’ in the preamble, no change in the current national flag, and rejected to include ‘peoples war’ .in the preamble. The chairman of the Constitutional Committee will submit it to the Constitutional committee for passing it either by consensus or by two-third majority.
