Culture Of Shutdown Disregarding Violation Of Human Rights

February 3, 2013: disregarding the violation of rights of common folks to work for living, the opposition parties have enforced the shutdown across the Kavrepalanchok district today protesting against the alleged assault on journalists by the YCL.

The cadres unleashed by the so-called democratic parties have physically assaulted anybody defying their orders to shut down in the Kavrepalanchok district. They attacked a bike rider physically and damaged his motorbike. The man is undergoing treatment in the local hospital, according to ‘The Himalayan Times’ of today.

The Morang Commerce Association has enforced shutdown in Biratnager today protesting against the killing of an industrialist Ganga Bishan Rathi according to the RSS news. Unfortunately, the same business people complaining about the frequent shutdowns imposed by the political parties have resorted to shutdown violating the rights of other people to work and live normally.

CPN-Maoist has called one-day Nepal shutdown on February 10 to protest against the imprisonment of five Maoist cadres accused of murdering journalist Dekendra Thapa in Dailekh in 2004, according to HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE of yesterday. CPN-Maoist leaders are going to commit the violation of human rights in the massive scale. The world would boycott such a political party.
