Chairman Prachanda Apologizes To The Public

May 13, 2010: speaking at the interaction with reporters, intellectuals, businessmen human rights groups and civil society activists held at the Hotel Yak and Yeti in Kathmandu on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, Chairman Prachanda has apologized to the reporters, intellectuals, businesspersons and residents of Kathmandu for hurting them by his harsh words spoken at the mass rally held by his party at Tundikhel in Kathmandu on Saturday, May 08, 2010. He has said that Kathmandu is his constituency and he is not for hurting the constituents. Concerning the reporters, businesspersons and intellectuals that have involved in discrediting the Maoists, he has said that only percent of them is of that type.
At the massy rally held at Tundikhel in Kathmandu on May 8, 2010, Chairman Prachanda has said that his people have recorded in their heads what the reporters have written, what the intellectuals, businesspersons and so on have done to foil the movement launched for peace and constitution. They would settle the scores with them in due time.
He has also said that his party has realized that the indefinite shutdown of the entire country enforced by his party for six days is a mistake and his party would not repeat such mistake in the future.
Concerning the integration of the armies, returning the seized properties and tearing down the YCL barracks, Chairman Prachanda has said that he is ready to compete all those things within the extended term of UNMIN for four months provided the political parties in power are willing to do so; however, they have been playing a dirty political game to corner the Maoists, put all blames such as not extending the term of the Constituent Assembly and not completing the writing of a new constitution on them. He has said that even if the term of the Constituent Assembly is extended for a year, the political parties in power are not going to compete the writing of a new constitution, as they would engage in cornering the Maoists and trying to break them up, nothing else.
