Prime Minister Madhav Nepal Unable To Appoint A Governor

March 9, 2010: Prime Minister Madhav Nepal has been unable to appoint a governor to the Central Bank of Nepal called Nepal Rastraya Bank even after a month since the governor has retired. Following the Nepal Rastraya Bank Act, the government needs to appoint a governor one month before the incumbent governor retires. However, Madhav Nepal rejected by the people at the polls but became a Prime Minister by freak has not only unable to appoint a governor but also has not followed the law. Prime Minister Nepal as a chief executive is also a law enforcement officer has not followed the law of the central bank not appointing a governor so far.
Prime Minister Madhav Nepal and his deputy Sujata Koirala has been head-on collision concerning the appointment of a governor. Madam Koirala has accused Madhav Nepal of insisting on appointing his man and she wants somebody of her party as Madhav Nepal has already appointed his man to the vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission; so, she insists on appointing her person to the position of governor of the Central Bank of Nepal according to the Nepalese media.
