President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav In China

November 01, 2010: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, currently in China has met with his Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapakse at the Expo centre of the Shanghai World Expo site on October 31, 2010 and have exchanged views on the bilateral matters concerning the mutual benefits; at the meeting, President Dr Yadav has stressed the need for the two countries to work together in the field of education and health; in response, the Sri Lankan President has referred to the joint committee already set up to promote trade, tourism and commerce between Sri Lanka and Nepal, and put emphasis on the need for revitalizing it adopting a concrete policy, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of November 01, 2010 writes.
Concerning the interest shown by the Sri Lakan President in the current political situation in Nepal, Nepalese president Dr. Yadav has explained that the peace process and the constitution writing are on the right track and moving on forward.
At the same time, President Yadav has attended the closing ceremony of the Shanghai Expo of 2010 and the opening ceremony of the World Expo Summit Forum; Heads of State and Government of eight countries have participated in the closing ceremony and the opening ceremony of the World Expo Summit Forum; UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and General Secretary of International Bureau of Exposition Gonzalez Loscertales among others have addressed the forum and the closing ceremony, ‘The Rising Nepal’ of November 01, 2010 writes quoting the state-run news agency called RSS.
On Monday, November 01, 2010, Nepalese President has met with the Chinese Prime Minister, in the talks with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, President Yadav has said that Nepal will not allow any force to damage the Chinese interest in its territory, and repeated that Nepal staunchly follows the one-China policy; President Yadav has congratulated China on the success of the Expo and expressed hopes for a more profound partnership with China in the future, the Chinese state-run news called Xinhua reports.
Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao in turn has said that China and Nepal are good neighbors, good friends and good partners and the bilateral relations the two countries have is a model for equal and friendly cooperation between the two countries. He has further said that China will consolidate its traditional friendship with Nepal, deepen pragmatic cooperation and enrich its comprehensive partnership.
"China is confident about political parties achieving peace and stability through mutual consultations and consensus as soon as possible," Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sarat Singh Bhandari quoted Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao saying at the 20-mintute meeting with President Yadav at the Shanghai State Guest House, myrepublica.com writes.
The President is returning back to Nepal on November 01, 2010.
