Former Royals Begging For Exemption

On January 5, 2010, the Cabinet Committee On Bill has decided to collect the amounts of the unpaid electricity, telephones and water bills from former King Gyanendra, his family members and relatives after they became commoners following the declaration of the Constituent Assembly in May 2008. The unpaid bills have amounted to Rs 200 millions.
Former King Gyanendra has begged the Government of Nepal for exempting the payment of the unpaid bills of electricity, telephones and water used by him and his family members and relatives.
