Feedback To Strategy Of Economic Diplomacy Of Nepal

July 8, 2013: to give the final shape to the strategy of the economic diplomacy prepared by the government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a meeting at the Ministry yesterday to get feedback from the stakeholders, according to the news on ‘gorkhapatraonline.com.’
The government has been working on the guidelines of the economic diplomacy to make the implementation of the economic-diplomacy plans effective and result-oriented through the Nepalese missions abroad.
At the meeting, government officials and private-sector representatives focused their comments on and feedback to the guidelines on trade, foreign investment and technology transfer, tourism and foreign employment.
The meeting decided to submit the recommendations on the proposed guidelines to the High-Level Economic Diplomacy Operation Monitoring Committee coordinated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The proposed guidelines of the economic diplomacy set a priority to the foreign investment and technology transfer, tourism development, management of foreign employment, climate change and culture.
Representatives of Nepal Rastra Bank (Central Bank of Nepal), Trade and Export Promotion Centre, Nepal Tourism Board, Investment Board, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Nepalese Industries participated in the meeting.
