Chinese PLA Chief Arriving Nepal For A Three-day Visit

March 23, 2011: at the invitation of Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Chhatra Man Singh Gurung, with the 15-member military delegation, Chief of Army Staff of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China Chen Bingde has arrived Kathmandu for a three-day visit today.

During his stay in Nepal, CoAS Bingde will call on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, Defense Minister Bishnu Poudel and other senior army officials.

The Chinese CoAS will also sign a deal of Rs 1.43 billion technical assistance to Nepali Army. The Khanal government has already approved of the deal to be signed by the Nepalese CoAS.
