A High-level Monitoring Committee To Monitor Five-Point Deal

May 31, 2011: the legislature-parliament is going to set up a high-level monitoring committee headed by the Speaker to monitor the enforcement of the five-point agreement the three major political parties such as UCPN-Maoist, NC and CPN-UML have reached and endorsed by the legislature-parliament on the early morning of May 29, 2011, ‘gorkhapatra’ of today writes.

The committee will have the representation of all political parties represented in the legislature-parliament. It will monitor the completion of the fundamental work done on the peace process to be completed within three months, preparation of a first draft of a new constitution to be completed within three months, effective enforcement of the agreements reached with the UDMF in the past for making the Nepali Army inclusive and the resignation of the prime minister for paving the way to form a national consensus government.
