Development Cooperation between Nepal and Norway

On March 31, 2009, the state-run Radio Nepal in its morning news bulletins said that Prime Minister Prachanda met with the king of Norway and his Norwegian counterpart; the ambassadors of both the countries signed off the document in the development cooperation between the two countries in presence of the Nepalese Prime Minister and Norwegian Minister for Development Cooperation.
The news bulletins also stated that Norway has increased its development assistance for Nepal by 10% and would primarily spent on the peace process, institutionalizing the rule of law and economic development including hydropower and rural energy development in Nepal.
