Prachanda Meets With Officiating Prime Minister

Issue 36, September 05, 2010

By KTM Metro Reporter

September 1, 2010: Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has met with Officiating Prime Minister Madhav Nepal at Koteshwor: the private residence of the Prime Minister on August 31, 2010. They have discussed what they can give to and take from each other. Prachanda is for extending the term of UNMIN for another six months during which time he believes that the peace process will complete. Madhav Nepal wants a trade-off between the extension of the term of UNMIN and budget and government programs and policies according to ‘The Rising Nepal’ of September 1, 2010.

Madgav Nepal has said publicly that he does not believe in completing the peace process; so, he does not see the need of the UNMIN for doing the impossible job, as he thinks it. His Defense Minister has been instigating the Nepal Army not to cooperate with the UNMIN; so the Nepal Army has boycotted the JMCC meeting called by UNMIN recently. Obviously, Madhav Nepal and his accomplices have been for a conflict again so that they can continue their misrule in Nepal.

One of the Deputy Chairmen of UCPN-Maoist Mohan Baidya Kiran has said that the reactionary forces are not for writing and promulgating a new constitution, so, the party needs to prepare for another revolution.

Thus, both the extremists are for going head-on collision and shedding more blood of Nepalis rather than institutionalizing a lasting peace for the prosperity of Nepalis in general following the aspiration of Nepalis for it.
