September 9, 2011: Prime Minster Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has a one and a half hour meeting with the newly appointed Indian envoy to Nepal Jayant Prasad on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Following the news given by his spouse lawmaker Hisila Yami, Dr. Bhattarai has told the Indian ambassador he would be visiting India after the return from attending a UN meeting in New York this month.
Next day, Dr. Bhattarai met with the Chinese envoy to Nepal Yang Houlan . The Chinese ambassador Yang Houlan also has extended the official invitation to Dr Bhattarai to visit China.
The tradition has it that after the appointment to the office of prime minister, Nepalese Prime Minister first visit India and then China but former Prime Minister Prachanda had broken up this tradition first visiting China to attend the closing ceremony of Olympic held in China in 2008. Since then, the Maoists have had uneasy relations with India. Now, Dr. Bhattarai is set to correct it.
