Open Competition For Filling Vacant Offices At Constitutional Bodies

Issue 38, September 18, 2011

By KTM Metro Reporter

September 17, 2011: The Constitutional Council (CC) at its meeting held yesterday has decided to call applications from the appropriate persons for the offices at the Constitutional Bodies. The CC has passed the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the offices at the Constitutional Bodies to make appointments of the offices including the heads of the Constitutional Bodies through an open competition.

One after another government in the past has failed in appointing to the offices of members and chiefs of the Constitutional Bodies such as Election Commission, Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority, and Office of the Attorney General, as the political leaders could not reach understanding on appointing appropriate persons to such offices.
