Issue 30, July 28, 2013

By KTM Metro Reporters

July 26, 2013: the meeting of the Interim Election Council of Ministers held yesterday has decided to extend the term of the Commission on Delineation of Constituencies for ten days following the request of the commission, according to the news in ‘gorkhapatra’ of today.

The government has set up the Commission on Delineation of Constituencies pursuant to the Article 154 (A) (1), and set its term of office for a month. However, the commission has not been able to complete its work for various reasons.

The government also has decided to divert the relief materials distributed by individuals to the State agencies for distributing them properly to the victims of the recent floods in the far western Nepal following the letter of the Election Commission written on July 24, 2013 that former king Gyanendra has been distributing relief materials going against the election code of conduct.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday, spokesman for the ministry Shanker Prasad Koirala has said that the government has decided to set up a three-circle security against the possible disruption of the elections to be held on November 19. The regular police will be the first circle of the security of the pooling booths, the armed police force will be the second circle, and the Nepal Army will be the last circle of security.
