April 6, 2010: UCPN-Maoist has held mass rallies at major towns and districts across Nepal to celebrate ‘April 6’ the People’s Movement Day, and to initiate a decisive movement for people’s supremacy, national sovereignty and security.

Speaking at the mass rally at Tundikhel in Kathmandu, Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Prachanda has said that the peace process could be completed within one month and complete the writing of a new constitution within one and a half months if all the leaders of the political parties that have been supporting the current incompetent government run by the politicians rejected by the people in polls agree on these matters. Rather these incompetent leaders are trying to push the Maoists to the extreme but the Maoists will be patient and finished off those anti-people’s leaders through the people’s movement. Prachanda also has said that the evil spirits of some politicians have been haunting the Nepalese politics, so these evil spirits need to be finished off by a mantra ‘unity of all people’.

Chairman Prachanda also has said that his party is not against the Indian people rather honor their sovereignty. He also has said that the Maoists are not against he Nepal Army rather the Maoists and the Nepal Army will jointly protect the national sovereignty and the national pride. However, some leaders don’t want to see the people’s sovereignty protected are trying to use the slogan of ‘Hindu nation’ to fight against the Maoists. They will be defeated. At the end of the speech, he has said that the current rally is the initiation of the people’s movement for the decisive people’s movement to set the people’s supremacy.
