Peaceful Protest Turns To Violence In Some Places

December 22, 2009: the Home Ministry has said that the Maoist protestors have damaged the office of the USAID/Nepal and Women’s Development Office in Surkhet on Monday, December 21, 2009; they have damaged the office of the Jyoti Spinning Mill at Parwanipur, and Shivashakti Packaging Industry at Simara; they have manhandled the government staffs working at Parbat; similarly, the protestors have damaged offices at various places, and have beaten staffs working at offices, and burned vehicles in some places, and tires at various places.
