Don’t Follow US Policy On Nepal

Former Indian envoy to Nepal, Mr. Deb Mukharji cautioned the Indian government not to follow the US games played in Nepal according to the news posted on the website ‘Howrah.org/India’ on May 16, 2008. Speaking at the seminar on "Emerging situation in Nepal: Policy options for India" held by a foreign policy think-tank called ‘Observer Research Foundation’ in New Delhi, India, former Ambassador Mr. Mukharji referring to the reports on the US officials advising Prime Minister Girija Koirala to lead the next government denying the Maoists their legitimate rights to lead it said that if India would support it then it would provoke China to react to it strongly given the current situation in Tibet.
