Kathmandu: At the press conference held in Kathmandu yesterday, replying to the questions of the reporters, the two-deputy prime ministers such as Gopalman Shrestha (NC) and Krishna Bahadur Mahara (Maoist-Center) presented the one-hundred-day performances of the government Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba presided over.
The main performances have been the visit of the president to Switzerland, of the vice-president to China, of the prime minister to India, of the deputy prime minister to India and China, and another deputy prime minister to America to sign off the agreement on the US government providing Nepal with the grant amount of US$500 million for improving roads and producing energy.
The presentation of the annual budget, issuing the guidance to use the budget, sending money to the local units and so on are other achievements mentioned in the 100-day performances. Certainly, the State machinery would not function if the Deuba government had not submitted the budget.
However, the one-hundred-day performances deliberately or otherwise did not mention the greatest achievement of the Deuba government such as making the 54-member jumbo cabinet for running the administration of the nation with the population of less than 30 million.
Surely, the deputy prime ministers in turns had got down to the nitty-gritty of the one-hundred-day performances but the public already knew most of them through the local media. However, the details of the performances covered more than one-full page of the ‘gorkhapatra” of today.
