July 9, 2015: The Constituent Assembly (CA) passed the proposal presented by its Committee on Citizen Relations and Public Opinion Collection for taking the preliminary draft constitution to the common folks and get the feedback despite the opposition of some Madheshi political parties.

The proposed plan was to complete the collection of the feedback from the people by July 23. CA members would visit each constituency to collect the feedback others would visit villages and municipalities. Chief District Officers and Secretaries to the Village Development Committees would call the meetings of the common folks.

Representatives of political parties, civil society and other social organizations would participate in the all-party meetings at the local levels to deliberate over the preliminary draft constitution.

Interested people could send their feedback through emails and call on the toll-free telephone numbers provided by the CA secretariat, the news on the thehimalayantimes.com has it.

"The CA secretariat has sought Rs 1.4 billion for the lawmakers' visits to districts and to distribute the draft constitution to the public," said a senior official at the ministry of finance. "The first draft is before you. How do you find it? Give us your suggestions." This is the key question the lawmakers will ask the public, according to the news on myrepublica.com.
